Application Analyst

Franklin Pierce University has an opening in the Information Technology Department for an Application Analyst. This is a full-time, exempt, benefited position reporting to the Director of Information Technology. The responsibilities for this position include providing day-to-day support for database administration functions for administrative applications, providing day-to-day support for these applications including testing, implementing upgrades, interim patches, analyzing and resolving software issues. This position also provides data to external agencies in various data formats, facilitating data import and export to the applications – this includes but is not limited to QX, PowerFAIDS, Cbord, Cort, Endeavor and Blackbaud.

  • Provide support to administrative applications.
  • Analyze and trouble shoot application problems through data analysis, systems testing, and vendor support.
  • Write complex sql queries and stored procedure including cursor processing.
  • Write reports, and provide data in variety of formats to various internal and external entities.
  • Resolve data integrity issues, and build automated interfaces between systems for data exchange.
  • Acquire knowledge of application functions, use, and business process in various units.
  • Work closely with various offices to understand, support, and help improve and automate business processes.
  • Provides training for users on administrative application software.
  • Maintains application software to current version and build ensuring that minor and major releases, patches and other fixes, are tested and implemented effectively in a timely manner.
  • Identifies, evaluates, and prioritizes application problems.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Computer Science or the equivalent in technical certifications and experience. Proficiency with sql server preferably using ms-sql, Sybase, or Oracle. Proficienty in Infomaker, Access, XML, and DB Artisan or similar. Programming experience preferably using C#, asp.net, java, or php. Project management and supervisory experience is desirable. Ability to communicate easily with all constituencies..
