Coordinator of Clinical Education (faculty position)
Franklin Pierce University is seeking faculty to join an experienced
Doctor of Physical Therapy faculty within the University. New
faculty will be a part of our exciting, on the move University,
helping to establish our planned Goodyear, AZ Expansion Program*.
The Program in New Hampshire is fully accredited through CAPTE.
The responsibility of the ACCE will be to provide coordinate the
clinical education program of the Physical Therapy Curriculum, which
includes developing, monitoring and refining the clinical education
component of the curriculum, facilitating quality learning
experiences for students during clinical education, evaluating
students' performance in cooperation with other faculty, in relation
to progression through the didactic and clinical components of the
curriculum. Conduct site visits for students on affiliation.
Communicates and serves as a liaison between the University and
affiliated clinical education sites. Promotes clinical faculty
development, conduct annual assessment of the effectiveness of the
clinical education program and make recommendations to the PT
faculty curriculum committee for improvements. Teach clinical
education courses (face to face and online) in accordance with the
schedule of classes and follow the approved course descriptions and
syllabi established by the Physical Therapy Faculty Curriculum
Committee and administered by the Dean. Also involves teaching
modules in other courses, and/or being a lab assistant for other
instructor(s). Conducting and disseminating research that
contributes to the profession. Non-teaching assignments include
instructional development, academic advising and assisting students,
registration assignments, participating in university wide
activities and task forces, participation in Graduate Faculty
Committees, and other appropriate responsibilities.
Faculty will be primary instructors for the first cohort of students
in the Goodyear, AZ expansion program and will have primary
responsibility for teaching in the first year of the curriculum. The
program plan is to admit the first cohort of students in December
2008.
The successful applicant will teach courses in accordance with the
schedule of classes and follow the approved course descriptions and
syllabi established by the Physical Therapy Faculty Curriculum
Committee and administered by the Dean. Also involves teaching
modules in other courses, and/or being a lab assistant for other
instructor(s). Conducting and disseminating research that
contributes to the profession. Non-teaching assignments include
instructional development, academic advising and assisting students,
registration assignments, participating in university-wide
activities and task forces, and other appropriate responsibilities.
Applicants for physical therapy practice courses must posses at
least an entry-level PT degree, and at least a Masters Degree, or
preferably an earned doctoral degree, or be currently enrolled in
doctoral degree program. Applicants should be licensed or eligible
for licensure in the state of Arizona. Expertise in teaching in one
or more of the following areas required: Anatomy; Kinesiology;
Foundations of Physical Therapy Practice; Life Span Development;
Neuroscience I; Pathophysiology of Muscles and Cardiopulmonary
System; Physical Therapy Examination, Evaluation and Intervention;
and Pediatrics.
Applicants with expertise in the foundational sciences of Anatomy,
Kinesiology, Life Span Development, and Pathophysiology of Muscles
and Cardiopulmonary System do not need to be physical therapists.

College of Graduate and Professional Studies, Doctor of Physical
Therapy Program is seeking accreditation for the expansion program
at Goodyear, Arizona by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical
Therapy Education of the American Physical Therapy Association (1111
North Fairfax Street, Alexandria, VA 22314; phone 703-706-3245; accreditation@apta.org ). The program will submit an Application for Approval of
Substantive Change, which is the formal application required to
expand the program to an additional site. Submission of this
document does not assure that the program will be granted
Accreditation status to the expansion site.
