Holding conferences on a university campus is quite a unique and pleasant experience for conferees. On our campus, you will find all your required facilities -- the dining facility, a variety of housing facilities, a safety/security department, a library, an audiovisual department, classroom buildings, a variety of meeting rooms, two theatres, indoor recreation center -- all on the same compound, within walking distance from each other.
As a one-stop-shop service, the Conference Office at Franklin Pierce University will help with registration, housing requests, linen service, recreational activities, food service requests, along with office support services such as copying, faxing, telephone, mailing and shipping. The Conference Office coordinates all requests with other Franklin Pierce departments, such as the audiovisual, maintenance, custodial, telecommunications, transportation, safety and security and food service departments. We will also assist with off-campus housing, entertainment services for special events such as photographers, disc jockeys, and tent rentals. With a friendly and competent staff of six to seven students in the summer months, the Conference Office is available via telephone or emergency pager 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Our five traditional residence halls typically contain, single, double and triple rooms, with bathrooms located in the halls. We are able to house a total of 694 people in these residences. Washers and dryers are located in all buildings.
Northwoods and Mountainview Apartments
Northwoods and Mountainview private apartments consist of two bedrooms, one and a half bath, a living room, a kitchen and an open dining area. Most bedrooms have two twin beds; each apartment accommodates up to four people, for a total of 238 people in both apartment buildings. Washers and dryers are available in the basement of these towers. A separate meeting room with a capacity to hold 50 people lecture style is also located in each facility.
Our semi-private, 128-bed, suite-style, air-conditioned residence hall, Cheshire Hall, also houses a larger conference room with the capacity to hold 150 people lecture style. This room can be broken down into two smaller conference rooms for a more intimate setting. The bedroom suites contain 6 or 7 bedrooms per suite, with either one or two twin beds per room. Each suite shares a kitchen, living room with cable TV, and three showers and bathroom stalls. Off of each suite, we have also built small separate study/work rooms. This three-story building is equipped with an elevator and washers and dryers.
Franklin Pierce University offers 24 air-conditioned townhouses called Lakeview Townhouses, which are located on top of a small hill overlooking Pearly Pond. These Townhouses have three bedrooms, each with private bath, two beds in each room, full kitchen, dining room and living room, and washers and dryers. Some townhouses also have a separate studio apartment with two beds and bath.
Meeting and Seminar Rooms
Situated on 1,000 wooded acres in the heart of the famed Monadnock Region, with its breathtaking views of Pearly Pond and Grand Monadnock - the most-climbed mountain in the world - the Franklin Pierce Conference Office offers an excellent variety of meeting rooms, classrooms and theatres, many of which are air-conditioned. All classrooms are equipped with built-in TV/VCR's and our audiovisual department will be able to provide standard meeting room equipment to all meeting areas.
With a private pond for swimming and canoeing, hiking trails on campus, four outdoor tennis courts, two outdoor basketball courts, four playing fields, one indoor basketball court and a state-of-the-art indoor recreational facility, attending a conference at Franklin Pierce will become a memorable experience.
Grimshaw-Gudewicz Activity Center at Northfields
The Grimshaw-Gudewicz Activity Center at Northfields offers a small banquet/viewing room and use of a host of indoor recreational opportunities, such as a running track, turf soccer field, tennis courts, treadmills, lifecycles, rowers, stairclimbers, nautilus circuit, free weights, basketball courts, volleyball courts, and in-line skating.
For activities outside of the University, our conference attendees may enjoy mountain climbing, antique hunting, golf, crafts fairs, scenic drives through breathtaking scenery, quaint New England villages and picturesque lakes. Charming New England towns such as Rindge, Jaffrey, Fitzwilliam, Peterborough, and Keene, make for pleasant sightseeing and shopping.
Sodexo Corporation, our food service vendor, will be happy to accommodate its conference attendees with a fine array of meals. In general, all attendees will receive three meals per day served buffet style in the Campus Center. Catering services such as special banquets, coffee breaks, refreshment breaks, served meals, receptions on the lawn, and ice-cream socials are also available upon request.
