Piano
Piano instruction consists of a 45 minute lesson once a week. Piano majors are required to take six semesters of private instruction and perform a solo recital in the senior year. All other music majors are required to take two semesters of piano. You may take piano for credit regardless of your major. We welcome all levels of ability. Those of you with advanced keyboard abilities will find opportunities for both solo and ensemble performance. Other music majors will find it useful to consider piano as a second instrument. Regardless of your musical tastes and aspirations, you will find that studying the piano is an indispensable part of your education. The musical foundation found in learning to play the piano will help make your other musical endeavors that much more successful.
