American born guitarist, Scott Sanchez is recognized by audience members, concert presenters and reviewers for his unique artistry and solid musicianship. Classical Guitar Magazine (London, England), referring to his 2001 British debut, said, “Scott Sanchez charmed the audience with a well-delivered, musical performance of a well balanced, interesting and entertaining programme.” The Springfield Union News wrote, “Sanchez retains the elegant ornamentation, expressive vibrato and broad, warm tone of the Spanish masters.” Some of the highlights of Mr. Sanchez’s recent concert seasons have included recitals and master classes for London’s St. Bride’s Church, Dorset Classical Guitar Society, Lower Makefield, Pennsylvania Society for the Performing Arts, Boston’s King’s Chapel, Denver Classical Guitar Society, Yale Guitar Extravaganza, and Casper Chamber Music Society.
In 1997 Sanchez released his debut compact disc recording, Preludio! to wide critical praise. Mr. Sanchez’s second CD, Songs and Dances,was released in April 2002. Sanchez’s recordings have been heard on Public Radio stations throughout the U.S.A. He has also appeared on such television programs as See Hear on WNYT, NBC television.
Sanchez currently teaches guitar and guitar ensemble at Franklin Pierce University. He has served on the faculties of Trinity College, Springfield College and Wesleyan University. Sanchez received his master of music degree from Yale University.
Private Guitar and Bass Lessons Private guitar lessons at Franklin Pierce University are designed for all levels of guitar and bass students. Students with no prior experience will learn fundamental technical skills and note reading skills. Intermediate and advanced students will be encouraged to refine their musicianship skills and to broaden their understanding of the instrument. Guitar majors can expect a thorough training which will help them to enter the world as professional musicians and pursue studies at the graduate level. Regardless of the student’s level of ability, private guitar lessons at Franklin Pierce University will be conducted in a relaxed setting, enabling the student to reach their goals.
Guitar Ensemble The objective of the Guitar Ensemble is to explore some of the vast ensemble repertoire (Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, jazz, rock, etc.) available to guitarists. Through this exploration students will strengthen fundamental musical reading and technical skills. Repertoire may also include arrangements and compositions by the students and instructor.
