The Franklin Pierce University Human Resource Advisory Council supports the continuous improvement of the graduate human resource management programs and shares their knowledge and experience regarding human resource management with Franklin Pierce University graduate students through informal and formal networking opportunities.

Andrea Chatfield

Andrea Chatfield – Cook, Little, Rosenblatt & Manson, pllc

Andrea is an attorney for the Cook, Little, Rosenblatt & Manson law firm located in Manchester, NH. As a risk management attorney, Andrea has worked successfully with manufacturers, insurance companies, high tech companies, non-profits, construction businesses, churches, schools, medical professional groups, publicly traded companies, including a utility, and service businesses of all sizes.

Andrea provides effective advice and guidance on risk management issues in the workplace. This includes both day-to-day personnel decisions as well as high level policy-making decisions, such as developing employee handbooks, employment agreements, and other organizational protocols. Andrea has successfully represented employers of all types and sizes before administrative agencies in discrimination and wage disputes, including claims under Title VII, the ADEA, the ADA, the Fair Labor Standards Act, and parallel state laws.

Andrea also serves as an outside investigator for employers who need to respond to highly sensitive internal complaints of discrimination and harassment. Andrea rounds out her practice by developing and conducting in-house trainings for businesses and other employers in such matters as preventing workplace harassment, and how to manage within the law.

Prior to joining McLane, Andrea was a partner in the law firm of Wiggin & Nourie, P.A., in Manchester, NH. She holds a J.D., magna cum laude, from Syracuse University College of Law and a B.S., summa cum laude, from Suffolk University. She is a member of the Labor & Employment Sections of the New Hampshire Bar and the American Bar Association, Society of Human Resources Management and the Manchester Area Human Resources Association. She has served as a leader in many community organizations such as a Former Board of Directors member and Board President for the YWCA of Manchester and a member of the Board of Directors, for Child Health Services of Manchester.

Barbara Clark

Barbara Clark – Liberty Mutual Insurance Company

Barbara is a Senior IT/Human Resource professional with 20 plus years of experience.  She has held various positions in information technology during her tenure with Liberty Mutual, including technical roles in the Business Intelligence/Decision Support areas, Project Manager, and Manager.  Her current position is Program Manager for the Technical Development Program, a multi-year rotational IT leadership development program.  She also serves on the Advisory Board for the Engineering/Computer track of the Seacoast School of Technology in Exeter, NH. 
 
Barbara has completed her Master’s Certificate in IT Project Management and Advanced Master’s Certificate in Project Management from George Washington University. She received her undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the University of Maine, Orono, Maine.

Kathi Doucet

Kathi Doucet – Great NH Restaurants, Inc.

Kathi is an HR Generalist for the over 500 employees at Great NH Restaurants, Inc. that is the parent company for Cactus Jack’s, T-BONES, Cactus Jack’s, and the newest addition The Copper Door. Kathi brings over 20 years of experience of the food industry to her HR role. She has been an integral part of the growth of Great NH Restaurants. Working her way through the ranks from host, she moved into a leadership role where she created and developed the organizations human resource management department. Kathi has keen insight into the unique difference of HR in the food service industry.
 
A graduate of White Pines College, a Certificate in Business Management from NHTI, along with her Professional in Human Resource (PHR) certification from HRCI has provides Kathi the business knowledge needed to be successful in HR. She is currently enrolled at NHTI for a degree in Business Administration.

Therese Gesel-Towne, SPHR - Aegis Consulting and Solutions Group LLC

Therese is principal consultant with the Aegis Consulting and Solutions Group, LLC and leads its Human Resource practice. With over 25 years of experience in multiple management roles, over 20 years in Human Resources, a master’s degree in health administration and certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), Therese brings both depth and breadth to the field.

As a committed professional, Therese has led the Manchester Area Human Resources Association as its President for 2 years, served an additional 2 years in the capacity of Vice-President of Program, and a year as Vice-President of Annual Program. In addition, Therese is a member of the New Hampshire State Council and serves as the College Relations Representative and past Director. In recognition of her professional accomplishments and contributions to the profession, Therese has been invited to sit on the boards of several local organizations and agencies, including the Mental Health Center of Greater Manchester, Pastoral Counseling, and the Southern New Hampshire Regional School to Career Partnership Board of Directors and has also served as an expert witness.

Therese is a graduate of the Leadership New Hampshire program, class of 2005. In May 2007, Therese received the HR Hero Award, a State-wide recognition bestowed on HR professionals for their exceptional contributions in the field of Human Resources.

As the Principal of the Aegis Group, Therese has developed a broad portfolio of clients from the public and private sectors, spanning from small businesses to firms with hundreds of employees across several industries.

Dan Griffiths

Daniel Griffiths, PHR - GOAL/QPC

Dan is a human resources manager with 20 years experience. Currently, he is working for GOAL/QPC, an international organization whose focus is training in quality management. Dan also serves as a Membership Advisory Council member for the Northeast Region representing eleven states for the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM). He is founder and former president of the Greater Merrimack Valley Human Resource Association and served as past State Council Director for the SHRM NH State Council. Dan has received recognition from his SHRM chapter having an award named in his honor, entitled the Daniel W. Griffiths Leadership Award, which is given out each year to an HR professional who exemplifies the HR profession. 

Dan holds a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management and Leadership from Franklin Pierce University as well as a Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management from Southern New Hampshire University. He is also certified by the Human Resource Certification Institute as a Professional (PHR) in HR Management.

Janet Junclaus

Janet Jungclaus – US Cellular

Janet is currently a Regional Director of Associate Relations for US Cellular Corporation and has over 15 years of experience in the Human Resource field, holding several positions in Training and Development and Associate Relations. She has worked in a variety of industries such as education, the public sector, healthcare, finance, hospitality, and most recently the wireless communications industry. She has experience working in national and international markets. Janet is also is an adjunct instructor for Tusculum College.

Janet received her B.S. degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology from the University of Minnesota. She has an M.S. in Business (Organizational Behavior and Human Resources) from Georgia State University.

Ulysses Shields - US General Services Administration

Ulysses is a human resources professional with over 20 years of experience.  He is currently employed with the US General Services Administration (GSA) as the Labor and Employee Relations Manager for the New England region.  Prior to joining GSA, he was the Director of Human Resources for Corporate at SimplexGrinnell, a subsidiary of Tyco International.  He held various HR positions during his twelve year tenure with SimplexGrinnell. 

Ulysses is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt and Total Quality Management Facilitator.  His career also includes 25 years of active duty military service in the US Army. He has presented diversity seminars hosted at Fitchburg State College, sponsored by the United States Information Agency.  The seminars are related to the Community Partnership Program for the former Soviet Union countries. 
 
Ulysses completed his MBA in Leadership at Franklin Pierce and received his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Fitchburg State College, Fitchburg, Massachusetts.

Terence Traut – Entelechy, Inc


Terence is the President and CEO of Entelechy, Inc., a training design and development company based in New Hampshire. Entelechy is celebrating its 18th year creating customized performance solutions for companies throughout the world. Entelechy’s customizable modules have formed the basis for many successful training programs. At Entelechy, Terry is responsible for overall program design, development, and quality assurance. Terry brings over 25 years of training and management experience to Entelechy and has worked with many of today’s management thought leaders including Warren Bennis, John Kotter, Rosabeth Moss Kanter, Tom Peters, Henry Mintzberg, Marshall Goldsmith, and Jack Welch.
 
Before joining Entelechy, he worked for nine years at Digital Equipment Corporation and Wang Laboratories as sales training designer and manager. He also instructed for Boston University throughout Europe.
 
Terry holds a B.S. in Education from St. Cloud (Minnesota) University and a M.S. in Human Services Administration from Boston University. He has completed all coursework for his Ed.D. in Human Resource Education from Boston University.
