Information Technology represents the continuing convergence of technology in the communications and computing fields. The growth of the World Wide Web and the use of the internet and intranet by businesses have resulted in the need for technically competent professionals.

The BS degree prepares the student to seek meaningful employment in the areas of programming, web design and maintenance, systems analysis, database and networking technologies, while the BA degree prepares the student to seek jobs that require application of critical IT skills in a chosen area of interest. Both the BS and BA majors have a common foundation of 10 CIT courses. The BA provides a choice of 2 tracks: Business and Criminal Justice.
