(Undergraduate College at Rindge)
Franklin Pierce University recognizes that most students and families require financial methods in which to bridge the gap between what the cost of attendance is and the student’s eligibility for financial assistance. The following resources are recommendations we have made in order to assist with financing a Franklin Pierce University degree.
Monthly Payment Plan
Franklin Pierce University partners with TuitionPay in order to provide students with the option of paying the balance on their tuition account via a 10 month, interest free payment plan. There is a $100.00 enrollment fee. Students can enroll in TuitionPay online at https://tuitionpay.salliemae.com/tuitionpay/tpphome.aspx?franklinpierce
Parent PLUS Loan
The Parent PLUS loan is a federally-backed loan program that allows for parents of undergraduate students to borrow funds up to the student’s total cost of attendance (as determined by the Student Financial Services Office) less awarded financial aid. The Parent PLUS loan has a fixed interest rate of 7.90%, with options of deferring repayment until after the student graduates. Franklin Pierce recommends that parents who choose the deferred payment option make interest payments on the PLUS loan to avoid capitalization. As a Direct Loan participant, Franklin Pierce University will only process PLUS loans that are approved directly through the US Department of Education. Parents can apply online HERE.
2010-11 Alternative Loans
The staff of the Student Financial Services Office recommends that students and their families maximize all federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs first when financing a Franklin Pierce University degree. For students and families looking to utilize alternative/private loans as a source of partial financing, the following list includes all private lending programs that students borrowed from during the 2009-10 academic year.
Franklin Pierce University does not have a preferred Alternative/Private Lending list. We recommend that parents of undergraduate students seek the Federal Direct Parent PLUS loan and that Graduate students seek the Federal Direct Graduate PLUS loan as the preferred loan program to pay for costs not covered by the Federal Direct Stafford Loan programs and other sources of financial aid. Students who use an Alternative Loan may borrow from the lender of their choice, but must notify the Office of Student Financial Services.
