Log-in, Settings, Passwords and Managing Events
In order to add events and manage your settings as a Event Calendar Editor, you need permission and a user account. This is supplied by the Web Manager. Once you have an account, click the "Cal Editor" link at the top right corner of the screen. This will bring you to the log in screen. Enter the e-mail address and password that was supplied to you from the Web Manager. You have the ability to change your password once you are logged in; at this time, it is not recommended. You may change your password, but you are soley responsable to remember it. If you forget your password, the "I need a new password, I lost password" feature currently does not work and a new password will NOT be e-mailed to you. In the event you need assistance, contact the Web Manager.
(A username and password must be asigned to you by the Web Manager) Once you Log in using the Cal Editor button at the top-right of the Events Calendar, you will have a menu to select "Add Event". Refer to the video tutorial for further instruction.
[CURRENTLY NOT AVAILABLE] Community members who are not affiliated with the University may suggest events by using the black "Add Event" button at the bottom-right of the Events Calendar. Faculty and Staff members afiliated with the University are encouraged to obtain a Log In instead of using this button. Events submitted for proposal will be reviewed and approved. If the proposed event is not approved, the University will attempt to contact you to discuss why, discuss issues, or ask for clarification or edits to be made. The University does not guarantee that events submitted will be approved. We do not endorse any specific company or brand, services or solicitations, such requests will most likely be denied. Such proposed events will be evaluated against being best aligned with the University mission, vision, and best interests.Editing Event Descriptions
Adding a description about your event is strongly encouraged. Not only do you need to tell viewers when and where to go for your event, but a description helps to "advertise" your event. Font styles (bold, italic, colors), paragraph styles (returns, line breaks, centering), and images are supported. Pasting text from Microsoft Word into the Description field should also retain any formatting. Use a description to tell viewers more about the event, expectations of the event, what's special about the event and why to attend. (Do not overstate or over promise the experience).
Comma Separated Values (CSV) Upload Instructions
For Event Calendar Editors who have an account created by the Web Manager, you can upload a large series of events by using a CSV (Excel) file. A template is provideded on the CSV Upload page. Log into the calendar and click on CSV Upload. Refer to the video tutorial for further instruction.
There is one Group to display all events for both "Students and the General Community". Events for Students will usually identify that the event is for Franklin Pierce University Students and/or events for the Public.
There is one Category for "Events and Activities". This is for all events and activities available for the Group, "Students and the Community". Events for Students will usually identify that the event is for Franklin Pierce University Students and/or events for the Public.
