2013-2014 Room Lottery

Make sure your student is on top of the process for securing on-campus housing for the next school year!  The entire process can be found on the Residential Life website. Several important deadlines are fast approaching.

Your student must complete five steps by Thursday, April 18 in order to participate in the Room Lottery:

  • Pick up their Lottery Card on Thursday, March 28 in the Fieldhouse.
  • Pay the $250 non-refundable housing deposit for Fall 2013.
  • Pay any financial holds on your student account.
  • Complete any judicial sanctions rendered in this academic year.
  • Submit their cleared Lottery Card with the signed Room and Board Contract along with his/her roommate's cleared Lottery Card and signed Room and Board Contract to the Residential Life office anytime from Friday, March 29 to Thursday, April 18.

The student's number in the Room Lottery is determined by multiplying their Cumulative GPA by all credits earned to date at Franklin Pierce (including credits from other institutions that have been accepted by the Registrar).

The official Room Lottery will take place on Thursday, April 25 in the Fieldhouse.

More details can be found on the Residential Life website

Tutoring Program Honored

CAE Logo

The College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) has granted Franklin Pierce University's Peer Tutoring program Level 1 certification, giving the program recognition as an internationally certified program. Franklin Pierce has been developing and refining its Peer Tutoring program for years and is honored to be counted among the colleges and universities that have met the rigorous requirements necessary for receipt of this prestigious certification.

CRLA praised Franklin Pierce's program and particularly noted its well-developed training manual. The Peer Tutoring program is run by Maureen Baptiste and Patti Vorfeld of the Center for Academic Excellence. Baptiste says, "We are so honored by this accomplishment and look forward to the benefits of this program for both the students and the University."
