Franklin Pierce University has announced plans to continue full on-ground operations
at the 1,200-acre campus in Rindge, N.H. for the fall 2021 term. In-person instruction
will also continue at the University’s Academic Centers in Manchester and Lebanon,
N.H. and Goodyear, Ariz., which host the health science graduate programs.
“Fueled by our successful operations throughout the last academic year, we are planning
to continue full in-person learning and operations in August 2021. This will include
the continuation of in-person classes, athletic competition and reintroduction of
other University events, including robust visitation opportunities,” shared President
Kim Mooney.
“Our students want to be here, and proved that by their adaptability in abiding by
strict health and safety guidelines over the last year that made our in-person living
and learning possible through the height of the COVID-19 pandemic,” Mooney said. “Every
one of our students, faculty and staff made adjustments to ensure our continued operations
and continuity of learning, and it’s exciting to be looking ahead to the fall with
in-person events and activities returning, safely and responsibly.”
The University will keep some of the modifications to the Academic Calendar from 2020-2021,
including ending in-person instruction on the Rindge Campus before the Thanksgiving
Break and conducting finals for the fall semester remotely. The adjustments to the
2021-20202 Academic Calendar align the online and on-ground terms, allowing students
flexibility to enroll in classes year-round. The University also plans to reinstate
both traditional fall and spring break periods on the Rindge Campus.
Franklin Pierce plans to continue its robust COVID-19 testing program as long as needed,
working under the guidance of the CDC and in partnership with the New Hampshire Department
of Health and Human Services.
