Exhibition:Presentation

Dr. Laura Christoph

The INSPIRE (Implementing Nutrition and Sports Performance in Recreation and Exercise) Lab, an Inbre funded nutrition and exercise physiology lab, will hold a one-hour exhibition that showcases the work that nine undergraduate student researchers have conducted over the past year. The exhibit includes a series of student posters, as well as demonstrations of a variety of equipment and methodology used in the lab, including lactate testing, VO2Max testing, bioelectrical impedance analysis, dietary analysis and blood pressure monitoring. Researchers will present posters that highlight the findings of sport nutrition and exercise physiology research conducted with a variety of athletic teams on campus, including women's soccer, volleyball, basketball, and rowing. Research topics include the effects of nutrition education on sport nutrition knowledge and eating behaviors, the effects of maple syrup as a pre-workout supplement on physiological indicators, as well as observational research on physiology and anthropometrics of various teams.
