From COVID to Climate Change: What Can We Learn?
Panel Discussion

Institute for Climate Action Student Interns

This panel is composed of student members of the Franklin Pierce Institute for Climate Action, joined by an audience of faculty and a local citizen also affiliated with the Institute. The discussion considers the current pandemic and responses to it for lessons to be applied to the longer-term effort to address the threat of global climate change. Students speak to specific matters, such as the health crisis “wake-up call,” the double benefit of protecting wildlife habitat, and the pros and cons of government action. Audience members ask questions and introduce additional perspectives, e.g., regarding the role of scientific authority and the precedent being set by large-scale changes in economic behavior and lifestyles.
