The US Department of Education calculated that Franklin Pierce University may be eligible to receive $1.4 million in CARES Act funding as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic

Franklin Pierce University estimates that more than 1350 students enrolled on either the Rindge Campus coupled with over 250 students enrolled in either the University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy or Master’s of Physician Assistant Studies programs would be eligible to apply for CARES Act funding.

Franklin Pierce University received guidance from the US Department of Education that CARES Act funding would be made available in two components:

1. $700,323 in CARES Act funds that must be awarded directly to students for eligible expenses incurred as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic

2. $700,324 in CARES Act funds that may be used to offset expenses incurred by the University

The Student Financial Services Office developed an application process and email announcement in order to alert students and families of the availability of CARES ACT funds:

Franklin Pierce University submitted application materials to the US Department of Education in order to obtain the aforementioned resources

Senior Staff approved the CARES Act application and communication materials to be sent to students regarding the availability of CARES Act funding

Via both student and parent emails, the Student Financial Services Office notified students and families of the availability of CARES Act funds and the application process.

 

5/8/2020

Franklin Pierce University was notified that our application for $700,323 in CARES Act fund has been both processed and approved. Initial reporting requirements were communicated by the US Department of Education via Electronic Announcement on 5/6/2020

 

5/15/2020

Reminder email notice notices were sent to all eligible students to complete and submit CARES Act application materials by June 1, 2020 for consideration of eligible expenses.
