The Board of Trustees of Franklin Pierce University announces the appointment of new member Derica Carty ’99, Founder and President of Clear Curriculum in Washington, D.C. Carty brings extensive leadership experience in business process activities and instructional design methodologies to her role on the Board of Trustees, as well as an enduring appreciation for the opportunities to succeed and develop meaningful connections she had as a student at Franklin Pierce University.
Carty is a leader in project management and training delivery, who partners with private, local and federal government clients to create and deliver customized learning experiences. With over 20 years of experience, she is a proven instructional system course designer and developer in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. In 2020, she co-founded Davis Carty, a management consulting company. Prior to founding Clear Curriculum, Carty was the SW Technical Implementation Associate Manager at Accenture Federal Services and has held consulting positions with accounting firms Deloitte and Grant Thornton.
Board Chair Frederick W. Pierce IV said, “With her strong business, technical, and consulting background, Ms. Carty brings the kind of entrepreneurial thinking and collaborative skills that will help us successfully navigate a rapidly changing environment. We are delighted to welcome her to the Board of Trustees.”
As a student, Carty came to Franklin Pierce from Boston, Mass. and graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology in 1999. She earned a Master of Science in Education and Instructional Technology from Queen’s College in New York and holds the Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) and Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) certifications from Women Presidents’ Educational Organizations. Carty is also an active board member of Mid-Atlantic Advocacy through Education (MATE) DC, a non-profit organization, and a mentor at the Nationals Youth Baseball Academy (NYBA) in D.C.
