The College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences announced the creation of a new Master’s in Educational Leadership (M.Ed.) degree with a specialization in curriculum and instruction, which began this fall. The Master’s in Educational Leadership program prepares educators with skills that provide the background to lead in a broad range of educational settings. This new program offers a common core curriculum, elective courses, and fully implemented action research projects, so education professionals can design a track that meets their individualized professional goals.
Dr. Matthew Konieczka, Dean of the College of Liberal Arts & Social Sciences and Professor of Philosophy, notes, “Our M.Ed. programs allow educators to develop, hone, and advance their skills in a standards-based teaching environment that stresses accountability and excellence. Graduates will have reviewed best practices, researched and integrated current knowledge about technology, state and federal standards, while better understanding multiple ways of learning to provide the best educational experiences for their students.”
