Class of 2021 Valedictorians!
Franklin Pierce University is proud to announce that Rebekah Jean Hazleton and Leah Elizabeth Varney have earned the distinction of being named Valedictorians for the Class of 2020. These two outstanding undergraduate students achieved identical GPAs and will share the role as we honor our graduating class.
Rebekah Hazleton is a Management major in the Honors Program in the College of Business, with a minor in Public Relations. Rebekah is a member of Alpha Chi Honor Society and Sigma Beta Delta Business Honor Society. She has served as a student manager and tour guide in the Admissions office, and has been a peer leader and a peer leader trainer for Student Involvement. Her extracurricular activities have included the Operation Can Tab Club, and the Pro Intramural Volleyball team. After graduation, Rebekah plans to move to Houston, Texas to work for Cheers Health, Inc., a start-up company where she worked as an intern last summer. Rebekah would like to give a shout out to Lakeview 10, "the best Lakeview house EVER!"
Leah Varney is a Health Science major in the Honors Program in the College of Health and Natural Sciences. She has been an active member and executive officer of Alpha Chi Honor Society, and a General Biology tutor through the Center for Academic Excellence. Leah will begin the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at the University of Delaware this fall. Leah would like to "thank all the faculty and staff at Franklin Pierce, and especially Professor Tom Bennett, for believing in and supporting me throughout my time here. I would also like to thank my friends and family for their unwavering love and support - I would not be where I am without them!"
