The Franklin Pierce English Department is excited to share the launch a summer 2020 book club called Raven Nation Lit! This event is open to both the Franklin Pierce community and the public.

As students often solicit summer-reading recommendations from faculty, the opportunity presented itself to involve the broader community and expand the Ravens Read book group that currently runs in partnership with RiverMead Lifecare Community in Peterborough.

June’s selected reading will be WHERE THE CRAWDADS SING by Delia Owens, a New York Times bestseller about Kya Clark, the "Marsh Girl," from the haunted Barkley Cove, North Carolina. When the charming Chase Andrews is found dead late in 1969, Kya is suspected. The New York Times Book Review says CRAWDADS is: "Painfully beautiful ...At once a murder mystery, a coming-of-age narrative, and a celebration of nature."
Members of the English Faculty will be hosting the ZOOM book group on June 26 at 6 pm. To join, please email
