College is an opportunity to redefine who you are and what you wish to become. Get
a Life Outside the Classroom connects you with your peers, allowing you to learn more
about one another and explores important issues that may impact your college experience.
College life is filled with many decisions and choices, and making informed choices
helps you grow into the person you wish to become.

You will learn how to access both Health Services and Mental Health Services, where
to go for these services and what we are able to provide to you. You will meet the
entire staff so if you do get sick or need support, you will know who to go to.
10:15 a.m. Zero Shades of Gray – Orientation Tent
An interactive and engaging program that equips individuals with skills and information
to prevent sexual assault. Assault is not a women’s issue, or a men’s issue … it
is a human issue. This is an invitation to be part of the movement to end sexual assault.

We are going to talk about connecting to Wi-Fi, how to printing, where are the labs, applications/software – especially Office 365 touching on Canvas and Campus Web as well as Zoom, Adobe and other course specific software. - Getting to Know Your Dining Options – Dining Hall
Take a tour of the dining hall, learn about the retail location, gain strategies on navigating meal times and discuss how to work with the dining services staff to meet your dining needs or if you have dietary restrictions. - A Round Table with Student Financial Services – Marulli Lounge, Peterson Hall

Your Residence Hall Director (RD) and Community Assistant (CA) will provide an overview
of living on campus, expectations of being a member of a residence hall community,
available opportunities to enhance your experience and will share a little about themselves
to help you get to know them.
7:45 p.m. Dating Doctor David Coleman – Orientation Tent
Building relationships in an honest and supportive way are essential. Reporting “on-line”
to be “in a relationship” is a far cry from actually being in one. Apps like Tinder,
Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, have forever changed the dating landscape. One post,
one text, even one picture can alter multiple lives in a moment. In a humorous, yet challenging way, David Coleman, The Dating Doctor, will help you navigate dating’s
treacherous landscape as he addresses: mutual consent, safe words, becoming an intervener,
the characteristics of healthy relationships, surviving and thriving following a difficult
(public) breakup, David’s expertise and experience make this more than just a program…it’s
an event.
